“I went through The Business Cohort when I found out about the program through another business owner who previously participated. When I showed up, everyone was excited. We had a huge walkthrough into the cafeteria, and it was like the Super Bowl of business cohorts. Everybody was friendly, ready to have a good time, and I was just in awe.
What I was hoping to get out the cohort was not only how to start a successful business, but how to run and operate it. During the first class of the cohort, my personal life was in shambles. I was assigned two business coaches, Adam and Aldo. What we thought was just going to be a business relationship through the cohort, quickly transitioned into an everyday phone call. They made it known that they were not going anywhere, and they were here for me. What kept me coming back each and every week was the love from the leaders, volunteers, business coaches - everyone involved.
My business is called Perfect Purpose. It's a Christian clothing brand here based in the DFW area. I started this back in 2018 after I lost a friend of suicide, but I wanted to turn a negative into a positive just to get the positive message out there that we all have a God given purpose in this world and nobody can ever take that away from you. I wanted to promote God's word.
Growing up, my mom and dad instilled to me that the main person you fear is God. And I believe that's what transitioned me into Perfect Purpose. To let everyone know that everyone's here for a reason. It's just going on the journey to find out what your purpose is, and we're all valuable.
When I started this business in 2018, it wasn't my main focus. It was a side gig or a side hustle, and then The Business Cohort formed. As I went through the program, the business not only expanded, but it got better. We were able to reach way more clientele, and I was able to make the business what it is today. Through the program, the business coaches are going to go in depth, and they're going to break down your business. They're going to be your family. It's not just one of those programs that shuts off. No, we are here. We're staying. We're sticking by your side through it all. It goes on forever.
My hope for Perfect Purpose is to not be attached only to Dallas-Fort Worth. This message needs to be worldwide. And that started here at The Business Cohort. My biggest takeaway from The Business Cohort is that they are serious and devoted to not only just helping startup businesses or businesses that stay afloat, but they’re also here to be a family to businesses. They're going to make sure you're successful. They're going to make sure they get the word out about your business, so they're devoted to your success.
God brought me to The Business Cohort to show me that He's in control, and He's going to lead me the right way as long as I'm being receptive.
