The Power of Gratitude

The Business Cohort

Meet Kacie,

"I love discipleship, and I love business. The TBC offers a unique opportunity to help people by helping their businesses. Getting to know the starters and their business, watching ideas come to fruition, and sculpting the fog/driving for clarity are just a few of my favorite things about serving with the TBC.”

“My family loves Jessie (Owner and Chef of Brunchaholics, a TBC member), and the TBC became a family affair for us. I loved being able to bring my son into the process of strategic assessment and ideation and, in turn, have Jessie into our home.”

Kacie has been able to use her gifts and talents in her coaching role in The Business Cohort. As she is a business strategy consultant by trade. “Helping Jessie evaluate and discuss business growth opportunities through the lens of eternal perspective was a fun way to serve and draw on past work experience.”

“Getting a front-row seat to see God working in the community through local businesses is incredible. Having an impact and being a part of something bigger than yourself is life-changing and reminds me daily of God's glory and grace."

Financial Catalyst

Meet Brendan,

“Watermark was one of the first churches I visited when I moved to Dallas. My first time, I was very intimidated. I looked around, and everyone seemed to know and be known by others, but I wasn’t sure if I would ever find that. I thought it was just too big, and I didn’t know anyone. I didn’t come back for months as I tried other churches, but God had a plan to bring me to Watermark as I learned about all of the potential serving opportunities.

“From previous experience, I thought serving in the church meant choosing between teaching, worship, or some sort of manual labor. And while those things are so important for the local church, I felt like there was more I could do to use my specific gifts. That’s when I found out about Financial Catalyst and Watermark CDC. The Lord opened my eyes to see that there are many other ways I could use my gifts to serve God and His people.

“I am gifted analytically and mathematically, so I felt very equipped to serve with Watermark CDC’s Financial Catalyst. But I quickly learned it’s really not about that at all! While having those skills in this area of service is helpful, the most important part of serving with Watermark CDC is building relationships to point people to Christ. My role is ultimately not to teach people how a 401K works, but to help someone feel seen, known, and loved by the Lord.”

Job Connection Program

Meet Casey,

"I started serving with the JCP in the Fall of 2021. I was involved with Watermark South Dallas as a church and was excited to enter a serving opportunity there. I felt a growing conviction that I needed to be at the JCP to learn and grow alongside career seekers.

My role with the JCP is whatever the team needs me to be! Primarily, I volunteer as a table host who guides career seekers through the talking points in each lesson. I also serve as an advocate who walks alongside one specific career seeker as their personal cheerleader for each cohort. I listen to their desires for a career and their setbacks. I pray with and for them and share scripture with them to encourage faithfulness in their work. Lastly, I serve on the Directional Team, where I get to brainstorm and help discern the direction the Lord may be leading the program.

What I enjoy most about serving with the JCP is that I love our career seekers! They show up and want to be faithful in their work. They want better for themselves and their families as well. It is so encouraging! I've learned so much throughout the years, and the Lord has used the JCP to help build up my work ethic as well.

The Lord has gifted me to be a highly relational and empathetic person. I get to utilize these gifts to listen to career seekers and pray for them. With faith, we get to wait on the Lord to see His revival in people's lives.

The JCP is a place where you get to actively utilize your gifts and talents to build others up in the faith and the workplace. We get to see real lives changed through the power of the gospel. The word is preached, prayers are prayed, and lessons are learned! We are family. Please join us!”
