Hey friends, I’m Shannon Johnston! Home for me is the beautiful windy city of Chicago. DA BEARS! I graduated with a bachelor’s in Urban ministry and Missional Leadership from Moody Bible Institute in 2021. My heart for the urban context started in the west side of Chicago. Now I have the privilege to serve God’s people with Watermark CDC in South Dallas!

I have been a follower of Christ since age 5. I was raised in a Christian household and have watched God’s sovereignty and faithfulness keep me in His love and grace. Through many trials and tribulations, He has saved me for Himself every time. I met my amazing husband Alexander in Chicago and through God’s direction, he brought us to Dallas for Alex’s new job. We became members at Watermark quickly. We have fallen in love with this church and the mission of God here in Dallas.

I am the Executive Administrative Assistant of the Watermark CDC team. I have the joy to serve this team as well as provide care and support to our humble leader Carson Smith. I am grateful to be a part of and witness God’s work in South Dallas through our three initiatives with Watermark CDC.

I love to spend time with my husband and our cat, Henry. I am often singing around the house, dancing, or baking. I am an extrovert and coffee addict so you can often find me out with friends trying a new coffee shop or in a thrift store. I adore nature and trying new food. Nothing is better than time spent in the Word and with God’s people. Isaiah 61:1-3
