Because of you, we reached a significant milestone in Watermark CDC’s history. Through Financial Catalyst, we have now deployed over $1 million of matched funds to assist our neighbors in completing their asset purchases!
A short five months ago, our supporters gave $323,000 on North Texas Giving Day to support asset purchases through Financial Catalyst. Your giving directly resulted in asset purchases and life transformation for people like Ernesto, and we have now completed 134 asset purchases totaling $1,062,070 of our matched funds!

We launched Financial Catalyst as our first economic initiative with a desire to resolve transportation challenges in our city for under-resourced or under-served neighbors. About 65% of our neighbors we work with do not have access to a car and solely rely on public transportation. Our team sought to teach biblical stewardship principles through financial education, relational discipleship, and empowerment of matched savings. Over the last few years, we expanded beyond resolving transportation challenges to providing matched savings toward home ownership, education, and small business assets.
The awareness of Financial Catalyst is quickly spreading around our city through nonprofit partners, local churches, employers, and even in our prison system. Many formerly incarcerated neighbors connect with Financial Catalyst as one of their first few steps of re-entry to empower them in their stability and sustainability of life.
637 neighbors have participated in Financial Catalyst alongside 150+ volunteers and 8 bank partners. Listen to the transformational stories of Davina and Zach to whose lives were changed through relational discipleship and asset purchases.
