“The Job Connection Program Empowered Me.”

Meet Pam

“I am blessed that Watermark South Dallas came into the neighborhood and introduced the Job Connection Program to the people in the community. We are blessed because they took the time out of their daily schedules to uplift us, help us support our families, and take better care of ourselves.

I was hoping to get a better job, and I was hoping to be validated for what I had gone to school for, and I just wanted something better for me and my family. Losing all the women in my life caused me to start hearing God for myself and he was like, “Hey, you need to do this.” It was a blessing to walk in here and see other smiling faces and people that had went through the program prior that were sitting at the tables. They were encouraging.

The Job Connection Program can help you get a job to where you can actually support yourself and you're not depending on other people or depending on the government, they will actually help you. We would sit around and get to know each other, and we shared stories of our lives, where we came from, and where we were right then. I wanted to better myself. I wanted a better job. I wanted to be able to use my degree that I have. I wanted to be able to express myself and I wanted people to listen to me. They called around, helped you get job interviews, and let the companies know where you were coming from and what you knew. So, I mean, they were an inspiration and a blessing, period. The Job Connection Program empowered me.”
