Gratitude in Action
As we near the end of 2023, our schedules will fill up as we consider which holiday events to attend, what gifts to buy, where to serve, how to steward end-of-year giving, and when to spend time with family and friends who we dearly love.
Before all of this comes our way and as Thanksgiving approaches, Watermark CDC wanted to express our sincerest gratitude to each of you. Our team is reminded of a few key truths about our vision, mission, and how it’s accomplished through relationships
1. Vision of “Transform Economic Welfare” – We fully believe this vision is God’s as seen in Jeremiah 29:7 – that we may be people who consistently “seek” and “pray.” Seeking and meeting the needs of our neighbors while always being passionate about prayer as we ask God to lead us and give us favor (Psalm 90:17).
2. Missional Volunteers – Our goal is to “equip the saints (each of you!) for the work of the ministry” (Ephesians 4:12). We are grateful for our 12 board members who provide biblical wisdom, counsel, and care to our staff team and organization. We are grateful for our 175 volunteers as we could not achieve our mission without you:
Facilitators who teach the content and share the Gospel on a weekly basis.
Small group leaders, business coaches, and advocates who empower our neighbors to apply what everyone is learning together.
Hosts, AV techs, and encouraging note writers who see each person, learn their story, and care deeply about faithfulness.
3. Restoration through Relationships – We are grateful for our 300+ neighbors who trust us with their time and efforts when they participate in classes, obtain access to opportunity, and accelerate their empowerment to the next level. Most of all, we are grateful to live out 1 Thessalonians 2:8 as we not only share the Gospel but also share our lives together. This is one grand potluck where everyone has something to offer and things to learn from everyone. Something special is brewing in our city. Brokenness is being restored. Fractured history is healing. Division is repairing to unity. We are grateful for you being on this journey with us. May God receive all the glory!
